Biography

Karina Cernioglo is completing her last year as a medical student at the UC Davis School of Medicine. She graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition Science in 2018. For the past six years, she has been employed as a human studies coordinator under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Smilowitz. She is pursuing a career in pediatrics and is interested in academic and breastfeeding medicine. Her current research is aimed towards infant-maternal nutrition, lactation, health equity for low-income families, and reducing disease outcomes in preterm infants.
